SINFONÍA TRÓPICO dedicated its activities in the Páramos to freshwater management and biodiversity. The Páramos are alpine wetlands in tropical regions of South America, above the continuous forest line, yet below the permanent snow line. They are biodiversity hotspots and important freshwater reservoirs. As such, Colombian Páramos supply the region of Bogotá with water. Human developments, such as roads, drainage and forestation combined with the pressures of climte change put Páramos at risk.
With our partner Colectivo Atempo we organized a number of workshops with the communita of Usme.
