What is SINFONÍA TRÓPICO?

SINFONÍA TRÓPICO is an arts and sciences platform focused on the conservation and protection of biodiversity. We travel through different regions of Colombia, with national and international artists and scientists, promoting the exchange of knowledge to strengthen a collective identity associated with biodiversity.

Given their strength and vitality, we work with young leaders in the construction of a better present for themselves and their communities. Through art we seek to transform conflicts into opportunities in a creative way, combining local knowledge with innovative ideas.

We work in the 5 regions of the country: Andean, Caribbean, Amazonian, Pacific and Orinoquia, and focus our work on places where great biodiversity is mixed with socio-environmental conflicts. We reach the regions in three ways:

1- Art Festivals: Integration spaces through artistic workshops. Apartadó (2014), Puerto Gaitán (2015), San José del Guaviare (2015), Bogotá (2015), Florencia (2016) and Tadó (2018).

2- Artistic Projects: Support strategy for national and international artists whose work reflects a dialogue with the environment.

3- Artistic Residences: For artists in specific regions where we promote exchanges of knowledge, knowledge and reflection on environmental problems and their solutions.
